CCJ Workers shaking hands with sponsors The Support Centres are located at police stations or magistrate's courts. This is essential, because Support Centre staff work directly with these institutions and because acts of crime are normally reported by citizens to the police first. By working closely with the employees from these institutions, Support Centre staff are able to sensitise them to the needs of community members. Frequently the benefits of helping to develop co-operative relationships between community members and the local justice institutions are experienced. Support Centre co-ordinators, police and social welfare officers also present joint workshops, whilst CCJ staff are invited to participate in the community training activities of these governmental structures.
